About UsMeet Our Team
Gary joined us in January 2004 from the Co-operative Insurance Society (CIS), where he was a Sales Manager in charge of a large team of financial advisers. He has been advising clients in all areas of financial planning since 1998 and has expert knowledge in a wide range of financial planning areas, including pensions, investments and protection plans. He added paraplanning to his role at the start of 2013 and now also supports our other financial planners with his expert research and report writing skills.

- Provision of detailed research & analysis for the team
- Paraplanning support for all the financial planners
Why my job is important
“Our clients value time with their financial planner discussing the issues that are important to them. The additional support I provide to the team helps free up more time for all the financial planners to do this by taking ownership of some of the more time consuming tasks, such as research, analysis and report writing. Taking this collaborative team based approach results in happier clients.”
“Don’t waste time trying to guess which markets or funds to invest in for short term gains, or where the world is going to be next week or next year. No matter what the media will have you believe, this just isn’t possible to predict accurately. Instead, concentrate on what you do know and put a robust financial plan in place.”
Gary is married with one daughter. He enjoys spending time travelling in his motorhome at weekends, visiting different places in Scotland. During his younger years he played table tennis to a very high standard, having represented Scotland at schoolboy level, but old age has taken its toll and his knees are no longer up to the task.
