About UsMeet Our Team
Keith joined us in August 2018, but has been involved in financial services since 1998, mainly within solicitor and accountancy practices. This has allowed him to work with members of these professions to deliver a “joined up” approach to clients’ financial planning needs.
Along with achieving Chartered Financial Planner status with the Chartered Insurance Institute, Keith has attained Certified Financial Planner status with the Institute of Financial Planning, and Fellowship of the Personal Finance Society. He is also a Chartered Wealth Manager and Fellow of the Chartered Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment. He is therefore qualified to the highest level and is in a very select group of Financial Planners in Scotland to hold all these designations.
• Retirement planning – helping clients to understand their finances and retirement options and guiding them into retirement.
• Inheritance Tax Planning – helping to minimise the IHT that your family would pay while still ensuring that you are able to enjoy life and meet all your aims and objectives.
• Helping legal & accountancy firms to deliver a holistic approach to financial planning to their clients.
Why my job is important
I often feel that the jargon of financial services puts many people off discussing their finances with a professional. There is no such thing as a “stupid question” and any adviser should explain how to manage your finances in a way that is understandable to you and lets you understand what you have, and why.
I particularly enjoy passing my knowledge on to my clients to reduce the “fear factor” that many people face when trying to deal with their financial planning, this allows my clients to feel more confident in their knowledge and understanding of their financial position both now and in the future.
Step back a bit from the intricacies of your finances and actually ask yourself what you are trying to achieve, and plan for this. Too many clients just focus on growing their funds without ensuring that they are tax efficient and appropriate for their objectives.
Keith lives in Edinburgh & enjoys socialising. He is a keen runner, traveller, film buff and football fan.
